Press: Plush Toys book

I am delighted to announce that my plush work is featured in the new book ‘Plush Toys’! I have a few full page spreads that show photos of my plush deer, plush dolls, and sketches. It’s very exciting to see my personal artwork published in a book that can be bought in a store — wow!

The book was published by the Barcelona-based publishing house ‘Monsa‘, who creates some of the coolest art books. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this book (especially with TADO on the cover, omg)! I’m not sure how worldwide their distribution is, but they have an online bookshop if you require immediate artistic inspiration. 😉  If you would like to see more of my plush work, please click here.

Press: Interview for Electric Playground

I was asked to be one of the artists who was interviewed in the Chuckwa segment for the TV show Electric Playground. Miri was a super sweet host, and asked me about my plush and urban vinyl customs. It was an amazing experience. Check out the video here: http://www.elecplay.com/watch/19/358/3/2

Plush Art Show: 2 shows opening this weekend!

I have several plush pieces in a couple of shows that open this weekend…

The first show is Go Ask Alice @ Paul Cumes Fine Art Gallery. The opening reception is on Saturday, December 5th from 6-9pm. The show runs from Dec.5th to Jan.7th. The gallery is located at 131 East Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara, CA.

White Rabbit, Alice In Wonderland and Twee + Dee will be in the show! 🙂

The second show is Stuff This 3 @ Rivet Gallery. The opening reception is on Saturday, December 5th from 7-10pm. The show runs from Dec.5th to Dec.30th. Thanks to everyone who entered my plush deer giveaway hosted on TokyoBunnie’s blog!  This giveaway set a new record on TB’s blog with 127 entries!!! Congrats to donelleohio who gets to take home a new deer. I plan on having a few more giveaways in the future, so stay tuned! 🙂

Here are a few in progress pics of things I’ve been working on lately.  After spending weeks painting the Kalua Moola custom, I wanted to do some sewing again.  I’ve been working on 10 plush deer, and some of them will be hitting my Etsy shop tomorrow.  But for now, here are some in progress pics.

After hours of work, the deer are all sewn up. Now I decide colours for noses, eyelids and dots…

Lucky is unsure about the growing deer herd…

Here’s an in progress pic of my Kalua Moola custom.  I had just put sealer on his lower body which is why he’s drying upside down. 😉

And last but not least, I was super pleased to discover I was featured on Plastic + Plush’s Etsy Wednesday blog feature (09/09/09)!  Yay for little brown Ghostie!
