Photos: Budapest, Hungary

Budapest, Hungary was the second place I visited on my trip (the first being Prague). It was actually once two cities — Buda and Pest — separated by the Danube River and unified into one city just over 100 years ago. I stayed in the old Jewish quarter which was once a poor area and now has been transformed into a hip area with vintage shops and “ruin bars” (bars set up in abandoned buildings).

Urban Vinyl: DEATH BY FIRE custom resin 8″ Tuttz

Introducing…. ‘DEATH BY FIRE‘, my second 8 inch resin custom Tuttz (sculpted by Eric of Argonaut Resins). ‘Death By Fire’ will be available for purchase on Tuesday, August 28th at 1pm EST at emilybee.bigcartel.com! (check the timezone converter for your correct timezone)

Death By Fire was inspired by the song with the same name by Canadian band Land Of Talk. In this song the lead singer Elizabeth Powell laments over leaving a life worth living. She expresses that she lived it in sacrifice, however she should not be rewarded for it. She says that fate and dying in pain are both equal fears of hers. I find the song quite tragic, and with the upbeat melody and the mention of there being “no such thing as a bad day” makes me think of someone who is trekking on through the pain, unsure if it will ever pass. I painted Death By Fire to look like he is being consumed in bright orange flames.

Photos: Prague, Czech Republic

Hola! I just came back from a whirlwind tour of Europe. I visited 4 countries in 2 weeks. Here are some pics I wanted to share from Prague, Czech Republic, which was the first stop on my trip. Prague (pronounced ‘Praha’) is the home of the famous Astrological Clock (which is cool, but overrated), and the city has an amazing mix of gothic, art nouveau, and communist architecture. It is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. I also made a day trip out to Kutná Hora to see the Secuar Ossuary; the famous ‘bone church’ which is decorated with thousands of real human bones.

Urban Vinyl: “Broken” Kracka custom

Here are the final pics for BROKEN, my Kracka custom for the Dragons Custom Toy Show at the SHO Gallery in Wales, UK. There are 49 customs in the show, which you can see here. Part of the proceeds of sales go towards diabetes research.

Broken is a baby dragon who wishes to fly with the big dragons, but he is too young and his wings are too small. He knows he is not ready to fly yet, but he is impatient and wants to overcome this obstacle. Recently he attempted to fly with the conviction of his heart, but he fell and broke himself. Broken will try to fly again someday, once his heart is healed.
