This week I’m featuring the online shop called Urban Barn. “We offer a stunning array of contemporary home decor that will look right at home in your place, for years to come.” Unfortunately their website doesn’t do their in-store set-up justice (which is gorgeous!), and I also notice they don’t have a single deer-themed item (::cries:: they had tons of deer stuff last summer… I hope deers aren’t going out of style… o_O) My husband & I were ready to drop some mad cash here last year when we thought we were going to be in Toronto for a while. This week I’m featuring the online shop of Tsai-Fi. “Add a little bit of fantasy in your everyday life. Dust Bunnis, Drunken Mermaids and Nerdy Birdies: these are some of the figments of my imagination that I have brought to life. All items are original tsai-fi designs.” Tsai-Fi is an illustrator and toy designer, and has been a favourite artist of mine for some time now. I was lucky to meet her in person at the Renegade Craft Fair, and also picked up some of her merch. She has a website (which also has an online shop), blog, and etsy shop.

I’m going to start a weekly feature of my favourite online shops. I’ve called it “Weekly Window Shopping”, because really, that’s exactly what it is. There are SO many awesome indie home decorating/clothing sites on the internet. There really is no reason to go to Sears or Macy’s for home decorating anymore! With all my moving back and forth from Canada to the USA over the past 2+ years, pretty much everything I own is in storage and I don’t have a place I can really call home — yet. Once I get a home I’m going to go crazy with interior decorating like there’s no tomorrow!!! So for now I will window shop and bookmark things that I’d like to buy… someday. I thought I’d blog about my findings — there might be something you might like too!
